Ok, ok, this is another one that’s technically not in Southern Utah. In fact, it’s not in Utah at all. The location is Panaca, Nevada.
At first glance, this reservoir doesn’t seem very big so you’d be surprised to hear that it is a great fishing spot, especially Bass fishing!
Utah’s version of “The Wave”, also known as Candy Cliffs, Yant Flat is a hidden gem. Sandstone layers at the edge of the Colorado Plateau have been pushed up by the underlying volcanic rocks and eroded into domes, cliffs, and canyons.

Cedar Breaks is one of my ultimate favorite spots to visit year-round. If you’re hiking or camping in the summer, it’s a beautiful place to escape the desert heat. If you go in the winter, it’s a winter wonderland, which St George doesn’t get. That means you could be in sunny St George and less than an hour later you’re playing in the snow! What an awesome place to call home.
Take a journey to the giant Sequoia Tree (also referred to as the Redwood Tree)
Snow Canyon is one of my ultimate favorite places in Southern Utah. Snow Canyon is a relatively small state park, less than 2 miles across, but within those miles lies some of the most beautiful red rocks and views you’ll ever see.
Distance: roughly 3.4 miles roundtrip. This trail is best done after a heavy rainfall, or even in the rain! Sadly, I am yet to see
Anasazi Trailhead located off Highway 91 near Ivins, Utah offers beautiful views and petroglyphs!
